The Wilson Family
Thomas Wilson was born around 1726 and died later than 1829
i.e. he lived to the age of at least 103. He was a currier by trade and the family lived in Sowerby Bridge. His son Robert was shop-keeper and shoe-maker and at the time issued token currency apparently due to the shortage of legal coinage at the time.
Later the family moved to Halifax where Robert's son Thomas was a flour
and corn dealer. The family firm of T. Wilson & Son was at King Cross in
1911 (see report of Edward
Richardson's funeral).
