Thomas Townshend Thomas was a Woolstapler by profession and contemporary trade directories show his business premises being at 57 Woolshops, Halifax between 1837 - 1847.
In 1853 the address is given as 67 Woolshops (possibly an error). In 1858 apparently they were in the Square. In 1837 his home address was given as Wade Street, from 1845 onwards it was Church Street, Halifax.
