The Hollowell family were living in London during the 1820s and 1830s when Charles' children were born. Charles himself was, according to census information, born in Northampton. As yet no records have been found for his birth. 

The Hollowell family were predominantly boot and shoe makers.

Charles' daughter Rebecca married John Henry Smith at St John's Waterloo in  1862.
